Taking away large groups of people and
living communally poses risks for the
spread of infection, which we would not
encounter in everyday life and engenders
possible scenarios, which we have
thought through and planned for in the
past few years.
This year we are working closely with
medics and the relevant local health
authorities to ensure that, should we
have an incidence of swine flu; it will
be managed as efficiently as possible.
When infectious illnesses have broken
out at camp in the past we have swiftly
and effectively contained them, managed
the situation efficiently and learned
from the experience.
The current concern around swine flu is
of course significant and has afforded
us the opportunity to review our
practice around proactive promotion of
good health and hygiene throughout our
camps. Regular hand washing and the use
of alcohol hand gels will be encouraged
and everyone’s general health will be
closely monitored.
Of course we need your help and co
operation with this and would therefore
ask the following of EVERYONE concerned
with Habonim Dror camps this summer.
Essentially, if a participant brings the
virus onto camp this summer they are
putting at risk the health of the other
participants and the possible ability of
the camp to stay open.
We
are relying on parents to take their
communal responsibility seriously and
not put the camp at risk by sending
children who may be infected:
1-If you, your child or anyone in your
family has flu like symptoms between now
and the start of camp, please inform us.
2- Do not
send your child on camp if they have
flu, flu like symptoms or cold
symptoms. We will make every effort to
integrate them into camp once their
symptoms have passed and they have been
given a clean bill of health by the
doctor. Should they be unable to join
the camp, we will offer a full refund on
production of the relevant
certification.
3- Anyone arriving on camp with flu like
symptoms will be immediately quarantined
and returned home at their expense as
rapidly as possible. They will not be
able to rejoin camp and there will be no
refund given. The relevant authorities
will be informed and we will follow
current government advice on managing
the situation.
4- Anyone developing flu like symptoms
during camp will be quarantined and
removed from camp as soon as possible.
The relevant authorities will be
informed and we will follow current
government advice on managing the
situation.
WE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR
VIGILANCE AND CO OPERATION.
PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US IF
YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUERIES.
