As all of you will probably know, we had to shift the dates of veida a few times in order to try and best accommodate as many people as possible. As I hope you will have seen from Ma Koreh and from the facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2323993297) we have the final dates now, and we hope you have kept them free!
What: Veida
When: Friday 15th June – Sunday 17th June
Where: London Ken, 523 Finchley Road.
For: all madrichim
Why: To form new initiatives and to change Habo to the way we want it
Price: £30 (please don’t hesitate to ask for a subsidy / bursary).
Why are you important?
Veida is the most important thing we do as a movement, and it needs you. It is the highest decision making forum and the only place where our ideology and structure can change and new initiatives implemented. It has a huge bearing and effect on the movement and our lives.
As we continue to grow from strength to strength, and achieve things we thought impossible only a few years ago, the movement is becoming more and more a part of the lives of all of us. It effects, changes and moulds us into the people we are and hope to become. Veida can change the movement and shift the direction we head in.
What is Veida?
Veida is a time when all the madrichim (leaders) get together and passionately debate, argue and shape the future of the movement.
At veida we run peulot regarding the movement and ideology, and it is a time where you really get a chance to think and contemplate over the future of the movement. Then on the last day, everyone submits resolutions of things they would like to see changed in the movement. We then debate these resolutions out, before voting on them.
Veida is the pinnacle time for the movement. Decisions such as Cultural Judaism, Sababa becoming one day, the Mazkirut, banana’s being banned from Habonim Dror and changing the semel have all been made / rejected at veida and after long hours of debate.
If you want to be part of the future of the movement, Veida is the place to be!
Why’s it in London?
Habonim Dror is now moving out of its premises in London and moving into new ones. The building we are in now is vital to Habonim Dror’s history – we have been here for 50 years, and many veidot, machanot and meetings have taken place here over the years. As such, it is only appropriate that before we have to move out the building, we hold one big last veida at number 523. We hope you can be there to help mark history.
Transport
If there is the demand, we will be happy to organise a bus from Leeds / Liverpool / Manchester to London, so don’t worry too much about that!

That is it – and now we leave it in your hands. Habonim Dror is at a crucial state, and it needs all of its members to attend Veida to fight for what is best for the movement. It needs you. So we will hopefully see you all at Veida in mid-June, if not before!
