Habo Purim Party Extravaganza
Habonim Dror movement workers are once more showing their commitment to the Glasgow community by running a Purim Extravaganza this Sunday in Glasgow for people in primary 6 to secondary 2’s. Glasgow born Anthony Steen and Gary Sakol are coming up on Sunday as well as the Habonim Dror Schaliach Yahal Porat.
This is part of the Habonim Dror commitment to run weekly events in smaller Jewish communities and one of the main aims of the extravaganza is to get kids from Glasgow to go on camp.
Camps Organiser Gary Sakol commented, “Weekly the leaders are doing so well to attract the number of kids to the ken, now it is time to translate these numbers into numbers for camp. I really want the kids of Glasgow to come on camp and have the same Jewish experiences I was luck to have when I was younger. Camp will give the kids an opportunity to make new friends from around the country, which I think is so important for the kids to have. Unfortunately Glasgow community is getting smaller so we fell it is very important to give the kids a strong Jewish identity.”
Yahal Porat said, “I am really looking forward to coming to Glasgow once more, the community is fantastic, very welcoming and friendly and the kids are great. What we have achieved here is very special and we will continue to keep growing.
The Purim extravaganza is for P6+7 and for S1+2 and will take place at 59 Barrhead Rd, Newton Mearns opposite Asda and the event only costs £2. If you want any more information call 0161 795 9447 or go www.habodror.org.uk.
