Habonim Dror is offering you the experience of a lifetime. Habonim Dror is a socialist, Zionist, culturally Jewish Youth Movement and our tours reflect this in the way they are run. As a socialist movement, we focus on communal living and group dynamics. The tour runs a shared 'kupah' (kitty) system for money which the group controls for themselves. A huge emphasis is also put on group building, shared decisions and mutual respect which provide an unforgettable and unbeatable month with a group who will become friends for life.
Habonim Dror is an international youth movement which exists in 23 countries all over the world. This programme offers a unique opportunity for members of HD from around the world to meet and learn from each other and share experiences together.
Habonim Dror has many connections with communal Kibbutzim and during our month, we visit many Habonim Dror Kibbutzim all around Israel. We also work closely with Hanoar Ha'Oved Ve'lomed, our sister movement in Israel, and spend time on 'Irbutz' (urban kibbutz). Here we spend time learning about what it is really like to be Israeli and spend time helping to improve some parts of society. This 'encounter' is invaluable to experiencing Israel and builds ties with Israelis which will continue into the future.
Throughout Machaneh Yisrael, we offer a comprehensive leadership training programme in Israel. Participants return from Israel qualified to be leaders on our huge range of activities - ranging from weekly Kenim to our summer and winter machanot (camps) all over Europe.
We also participate in many different Social Action projects. Not only are these fun, educationa and a life changing experience but also helps Israel and its society.
We offer so many different educational and fun opportunities that we want to share with you. If you want a month of unadulterated, undiluted fun then Habonim Dror is the place for you.
"Being in Israel and having toured for a whole month with friends has been the most amazing experience of my life and I thank Habonim Dror so much for making the trip possible." Tammy Frieslander - Machaneh Yisrael 2004
