HD1
HD1 started the day travelling to Sde Boker. This is the Kibbutz where David Ben-Gurion moved to after his spell as Prime Minister. He had always thought that the desert can be fruitful and that people should move there to ensure that it remained a part of Israel. When he moved to Sde Boker, the people of Israel saw that he fully believed in this and did not simply preach.
The group then went on a short tiyul at Ein Ovdat through one of the largest wadis in the Negev. After their hike, the group left the desert and travelled to Tel Aviv. Here they finished their day learning about another great Israeli Leader, Yitzchak Rabin. They went to Kikar Rabin, formerly Kings of Israel Square, where Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated in November 1995. Here the group learnt about the great leader and had a tekes (ceremony) to commemorate his life. The group then headed back to the Grand Beach Hotel where they will be staying until the end of the programme.
HD2
HD2 woke up refreshed after a night sleeping out under the stars. They made breakfast with the whole group and then left the campsite for a short Tiyul. After Tiyul they ended their desert experience abseiling down one of the cliffs of Machtesh Gadol (Big Crater). The group then travelled to Tel Azaka where they did a tiyul through caves at the site where David fought against Goliath. After the dig, the group travelled north to Tel Aviv where they had some free time in Ramat Aviv Shopping Centre before arriving at the Grand-Dvora Hotel which will be their last hostel before travelling home.
