HD1 started the day today at the Supreme Court where they had a tour around the beautiful building. They then went to Har Herzl, the famous military cemetery, and learnt about the Israeli wars and some of the famous people that are buried there such as Theodore Herzl and Yitzchak Rabin. Theodore Herzl was a founder of the Zionist movement who led the idea and initiated support for a Jewish state. It is also a large military cemetery where previous prime ministers are buried except two, David Ben Gurion who is buried in kibbutz Sde Boker where he lived and worked out his retirement years (the groups will be visiting here) & Menachem Begin who is buried on Har HaTsofim with ‘the people’, a large public cemetery. The group then visited the Israeli parliament, the Knesset where they met with Orit Noked, an MK (Member of Knesset).
