HD1 & HD2
This morning both groups left Hachof Hayarok and travelled to the very well acclaimed centre for peace and dialogue at Givat Haviva on Kibbutz Ha’arzi to
begin their co-existence seminar: “The mission of Givat Haviva today is to cope with the major issues that are on the agenda of Israeli society, and to foster educational initiatives, research and community work in the fields of peace, democracy, coexistence, tolerance and social solidarity.”
Whilst there, they met with an Israeli-Arab and discussed what it is like to be an Arab living within Israel. They also took a tour around the green line learning about the separation fence and hearing some stories about the difference between
Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Arabs.

Did you know?
The green line was the demarcation between the 1967 borders of Israel and the West Bank territories captured in the Six-Day War. Although usually referred to as the “1967 border,” it actually is the 1949 armistice line, as there was no internationally recognized border at the time. The reference came about because someone used a green pen on the map of the armistice agreement with Jordan to draw the border!
