This machaneh looks at Revolutionaries, and how the chanichim can change the world! They look at such people such as Nelson Mandella and Martin Luthor King, as well as of course going into the Jewish aspect of this. Throughout machaneh they will enjoy different fun, yet educational peulot (activities) around this interesting theme.

Hope you have a great, restful and meaningful day!
Shabbat Shalom!
Friday 8th August: Mainsite (Day 9)
This morning mifkad was the loudest its ever been! Everybody was still on a high from a fantastic day yesterday and the noise levels were at an all time high! This mornings peula was looking at countercultures in the theme of a treasure hunt. They went to speak to different characters who all talked about counterculture and all the chanichim got really involved and learnt a lot (their favourite charachter was the punk, who had crazy hair and clothes)
After lunch it's back to a massive olympics session.....a bit of a run around never hurt anyone! Then it's straight into Kvusah time so that the chanichim can make kishut(signs, banners) for MYOD (Make your own day-this is the chance for the chanichim to become leaders and run the activities for the day)
Tonight is Shabbat and a spectacular friday night meal is install followed by 'i have a dream' peula whereby the chanichim will make a giant world of how they want the world to be through a disney theme!!! Sounds exciting!
Shabbat shalom and not long till you see them! xx
Thursday 7th August: Day Out (Day 8)
Nothing much to write – today they are all in a day out, in oak wood theme park.
They will spend the whole day there with lots of fun and food!
Yesterday night was still another great evening of activities, learning about revolutionary figures from the past.
Rain has stopped and it much sunnier in the little nice village of miskin mill, where our camp is.
Wednesday 6th August: Mainsite (Day 7)
Activity this morning:How revolutions came about, contributing factors to the revolutions.
The madrichim had made 5 different films, which showed 5 different cases, the groups acted as the jury, all the characters from the films came round, groups interviewed them & had to decided whether they were guilty or not guilty. The groups found all characters guilty.
Lunch was Pizza baguettes with salad, everyone got to add their own toppings- tuna, sweetcorn, olives, mushrooms, extra cheese etc. Desert was choc ices. It was enjoyed by all!
This afternoon's activity is about revolutionaries such as Ghandi, Nelson Mandella, MLK, in the activity they explain how they were revolutionaries, what methods were used. Rather than introducing themselves from the beginning of the peula, they will pose as Mr Men throughout the activity |& only reveal their true identity in the end of the activity where they will discuss & process the ideas & information.
Today they are enjoying the warmer weather together!
Sunday 3rd August: Tiyul (Day 4)
I can’t believe it’s the finally day of tiyul already! Everybody spent Shabbat at the park having a picnic, playing games and generally enjoying each others company. Last night some groups got takeaway pizza, sang songs round the campfire and some were even lucky enough to have hot chocolate with marshmallows!! Yesterday could not have been a more perfect day.
Today everybody packed up their tents and headed for main site. Everybody met up in the local village for one last tiyul lunch and the ruach (spirit) was at its optimum. Every tiyul group was trying to show off that they had the best tiyul group and the best songs…..the locals even came out of their houses to see where all the noise was coming from!!
This afternoon everybody met up at main site and oh what a noise!!! Everybody was screaming and shouting about being reunited with everyone and soon everyone got to work with setting the tents up. Tonight plan is ‘Introduction to Machaneh’-this is where all the chanichim are introduced to the leaders followed by the very important rules session by the roshim and organisers!! Then it’s the first Machaneh dinner and then an evening activity. All in all everybody is in high spirits and cannot WAIT for main site to start.
Saturday 2nd August: Tiyul (Day 3)
No update today as it is shabbat!
Hope you have a great, restful and meaningful day!
Shabbat Shalom!
Friday 1st August: Tiyul (Day 2)
Today a fun day was had by all. It was raining this morning but by lunchtime the sun came out and has been sunny every since. This afternoon 3 groups went bowling and even after 1 day it is already being described as the “best tiyul ever.” Most groups spent the day in the local town of Brecon, eating lunch out and singing till their voices wouldn’t let them anymore.
Everybody is making their way to the campsite to bring in Shabbat-they even managed to navigate their way there! 3 Groups are having take away pizza for dinner tonight-but it is a surprise so shh don’t tell! Everybody is really enjoying themselves and the plan is to have a good old habo sing song tonight. Shabbat Shalom xx
Thursday 31st July: Tiyul (Day 1)
Hooray! After a long journey I am happy to say that everyone arrived happy and safely. The bus company apologises for the delay, and admit full responsibiltiy.
2 coaches, 72 chanichim, 22 madrichim arrived in beautiful brecon at 5pm. They were split into 6 tiyul groups and everybody immediately went straight to the supermarket to buy dinner and breakfast. Everybody was in high spirits and loving being in a group with new people and get to know each other. As they walked to their campsite for the night they sang songs, played getting to know you games (the game bang was a great hit) and generally enjoying the outdoors.
As they arrived at their campsite, the whole kvutsa helped to put up a tent and started on making dinner. Tonights dinner was cooked by your very own children and went down a treat! Everybody is having a great time and excited about having their first tent experience-the torches are ready!!!
